Taking a stand for Faith, Family and Freedom

Freedom of Religion under attack

What is happening to Freedom and the Liberty given to us through the Constitution depends on oneself evaluation. Our First Amendment to the United States Constitution states Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances. In other words, our Constitution guarantees our right to assemble, the right to express our views, the right to choose a religion or no religion, the right to form an opinion without government interference. But what has happened to our Constitutional rights is being replaced by a term called “Political Correctness”.

In the past, changes taking place were made known by the news media whose journalists took pride in their roles as watchdogs. They would report by different media outlets on issues that could and would affect the lives of many American people in one way or the other. This way the American people had the power to hold the government accountable during the election year. It is with great sadness that most journalists have lost their spirit of transparency. They have taken the route of silence when it comes to informing the people that their Constitutional rights are being trampled and shredded by those in power. When you have the mainstream news media not reporting the truth to the American people then how can we hold the government officials accountable for their actions that affect the very life of all Americans?

For example on the issue of immorality, in the states of Massachusetts, Maryland, New York, Virginia and Washington suits have been filed and/or passed in regards to banning parents the right to seek counsel for their young child if that child feels like they may have same-sex attractions and some of these attractions could have developed after that child had been sexually abused. Then there is the push for same-sex marriage to become legal across the Country not only by those of the same-sex minority but also by our government officials who demand under the “Political Correctness” term that we as Americans are to give up our Freedom of Religion, Freedom of Speech, Freedom to assemble or protest and to demand that our Government does not interfere with what the majority of the people voted for. Another example: In about 33 states the people voted to not redefine marriage as anything other then 1 man and 1 woman. But because we the American people have allowed this government to dictate that our votes mean nothing there is a movement of same-sex couples coming into those states, North Carolina included and with the help of the activist judges overturning what the people voted for.  How are they doing this, I am glad you asked. Here is what is happening, for instance:

In Lakewood, Colorado, a Christian baker who owns Masterpiece Cakeshop refused to make a wedding cake for a same-sex couple due to his Christian belief that marriage is between a man and a woman.  Now the couple was married in the state of Massachusetts where same-sex marriage is legal then came to the state of Colorado where the Colorado Constitution defines marriage as between one man and one woman. The couple complained to the Colorado Civil Rights administration and the case came before an activist administrative law judge that ruled against the baker that even though he runs his business under his Christian religious beliefs he had violated the Colorado antidiscrimination law and ordered that in the future he has to bake cakes for any same-sex groups celebrating a wedding or face fines and jail time.

In New Mexico, a state that does not recognize marriage or civil unions between same sex couples but yet when a Christian photographer refused to take photographs at a same-sex couple’s ceremony due to the photographer’s religious beliefs the photographer was brought before a judge that ruled that he could not discriminate just because of his religious beliefs and he is to take photographs or face fines.

At Gallaudet University a chief diversity officer in Maryland was dismissed from her job due to a petition that her and her husband signed at their church requesting a referendum vote be implemented in regards to same-sex marriages. When the names became public a couple of faculty members complained and the university took action by dismissing this employee.  To view more on other cases happening through out the country you can find out more at; www.frc.org/washingtonupdate/justice-is-swerved

In Virginia the new Attorney General, took his oath of office to uphold the Virginia Constitution, but after getting in he announce that he would not defend the definition of marriage as the union of one man and one woman and he joined the other side in the lawsuit. At least the majority of the people and legislators of Virginia are not taking it lying down and have taken action.

Did you know that Freedom of the Press is being attacked by those in power? ACLJ – American Center for Law and Justice is warning those of us that will listen that the Obama administration is making plans to monitor all newsrooms through the FCC rulings that we the American people will only receive news that the government wants us to know not what we should know which in other words if they can suppress the truth then they will be able to do anything they want behind closed doors. www.infowars.com/justice-group-warns-of-obama-plan-to-put-government-monitors-in-newsrooms. At the time of this writing the administration says they have changed their mind, uh right, I for one will be keeping my eyes open.

We the American people must take action by taking a stand for Faith, Family and Freedom of Religion. We may not always agree on certain issues but we should all agree that voting or not voting does make a difference because it does affect our lives personally.  Let us pray that God continues to bless our Country.

“What Difference Does It Make”

I, like many in this country go throughout life deaf, dumb and blind. By this I mean we are oblivious to what is going on around us as long as it doesn’t affect us personally. We are too busy tending to our own needs/wants, too busy playing video games, too busy watching reality shows and yes, we are even too busy to pay attention to what our elected officials in office are saying and doing behind closed doors.

What prompt me into getting involved by bringing some of our country’s issues to the forefront began over a year ago as I was heading home.  I was listening to Tony Perkins of Washington Watch on 89.1 fm talk about Gender abortions. I learned that this was one of many types of abortions being performed in the United States. After I got home I did some research where I found that the definition of Gender aka Sex-selective abortion was terminating the pregnancy because of the undesired sex of the baby. Did you know its legal in some states but because there is no regulation in reporting the procedures the government does not have a count. Another type is partial-birth or late-term abortions was banned in 2003 but the past few years we have learned this practice was and I imagine is still being performed, remember Dr. Kermit Gosnell case in Philadelphia?

Since the Roe vs Wade decision 41 years ago there has been over 56 million babies aborted. I think about the different developing stages of these little human beings who were created in God’s image were legally murdered because of 7 judge’s decision that said in so many words, it’s not a real life so yes, let us make abortion legal. This is one of many issues in our country that’s been passed or in the process of passing that have or will have some sort of consequences.

The push by the pro-abortion groups rally to continue support for abortions by running on the argument that it’s the woman’s body, she should be able to do what she wants with it, and its part of healthcare. According to the Obama administration we the American people will be paying for these abortions whether we agree with it or not. Remember the phrase “I will not bow and Planned Parenthood will not bow” when President Obama ran for his 2nd term.  Well hidden deep within the many pages of Obamacare a secrecy clause sec. 1310(b)(3), page 781 in the 2010 healthcare law states how the insurance companies must pay for abortion and also they must not inform the purchaser about the coverage. The only way the purchaser would find out would be if they read the fine print.

According to the American Center for Law and Justice (ACLJ), Obamacare requires every American to purchase health insurance and the insurance providers to cover “preventive services” and preventative care but the wording in Obamacare is so broadly defined that they could be used to force coverage of abortions and abortion related drugs. ObamaCare not only opens the door for Planned Parenthood to run clinics in our middle and public schools it also provides our federal tax dollars to be used for these clinics. Although they can’t provide abortions in the school clinics they can refer the student on where to go and in a lot of the states parental permission may not be necessary. The March for Life took place on January 22 in Washington, DC with hundreds of thousand peaceful pro-life marchers. It was reported that even a large number of young people was there to show support.  If you didn’t know this march was happening then its because certain news media networks didn’t want to acknowledge the Pro-Life march and two other networks only reported a few seconds before hurrying to other news.  At the March for Life, House Majority Leader Eric Cantor made an announcement regarding a bill called H.R. 7, which is the “No Taxpayer Funding for Abortion Act”. What H.R. 7 does is put a permanent ban on the government from using federal taxpayer dollars to fund abortions. Although there is the Hyde Amendment that is used to prevent the tax dollars from funding abortions it has to be voted on annually and to my understanding it does not apply to Obamacare. The H.R. 7 would finalize this prevention of funding for abortions and should decrease the chance for another government shutdown at least on this issue. Whether you are for or against abortion that is a decision of your own making. We the American people need to stop ignoring what is going on in our country and take a stand by going out to vote. We may not always agree on certain issues but we should all agree that voting or not voting does make a difference because it does affect our lives personally.  May God continually bless our Country.
